More than a third, or 38%, of retail investment specialists and 33% of institutional investors surveyed said their preferred investment time horizon was below 12 months, while only 12% of institutional investors said their investment horizon was longer than five years – “significantly below globalcomparatives for institutional markets”, according to the report, which is the is the first of its kind on such a scale in the six country Gulf Cooperation Council region, according to Invesco.

The findings “will have an impact on asset allocation models” in funds marketed to Gulf investors, according to Nick Tolchard, head of Invesco Middle East, the Dubaibased arm of Invesco.
